The Vancouver Lace Club is a society of lacemaking practitioners and enthusiasts. Our purpose is to foster interest and growth of all kinds of lace making: bobbin lace, tatting, crocheted lace, knitted lace, needle lace. Membership dues are $25 per year or $5 per meeting if you want to come as a drop-in. Membership is open to anyone and the first meeting is free.
Our regular meetings are held from 10 am to 1 pm on the 4th Thursday of the month in Sept, Oct, Nov, Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr, May and June, at our new location: the downstairs meeting room at the First Free Methodist Community Church, 320 – 8th Street, New Westminster. We are moving to this new location on March 22, 2018, and our first full meeting at this location will be on April 26th.
If you’ve never been before: The driveway for the church comes off 8th street, in between the little yellow house and the darker stucco house that is attached to the church. You can park anywhere on the driveway or in the parking lot behind the church. Our door is the brown door leading from the parking lot (behind the church); which is on the same level as the meeting room (no stairs!). If you come in the main door of the church, take the stairs down to the lower level and turn to your left. The church is on the #123 bus route.
During July and August we usually have informal meetings on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays, from 10:30 to 1, in the gazebo in the Rose Garden at Queen’s Park in New Westminster.
